Classed Choropleth Map

A classed choropleth map is a thematic map in which areas are shaded or colored to represent differing classes. In this map of the United States, there are five classes that represent the number of males to females. The lighter the shade(more tan), the fewer men there are per 100 women. The darker the shade(more green), the more men there are per 100 women. The trend in this illustration seems to be that the ratio of women to men is greater on the east coast than on the west.
