Isopach

An isopach is a contour line joining points of equal thickness in rock layer. Isopachs are useful for estimating the volumes and dispersal of volcanic ashes. This particular isopach map shows ashfall in centimeters from a volcanic eruption in Cerro Negro, Nicaragua.
